Lake Oconee is a small lake and golf resort community, made up mainly of retirees. It also plays host to a variety of tourists. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Lake Sinclair predominantly consisted of second homes for people from Macon, Atlanta and Augusta. Since then and with more people working remotely than ever before, many of these homeowners have renovated and enlarged their home to become their full-time residences. These two blogs keep us very busy and yes we do make a living managing them. We have three part-time employees we recruited from the local college. Our success is due in part to the hybrid model we created, the one I mentioned above. We advertise local businesses on multiple mediums to keep their brand in front of the community whether they are on Google, scrolling through social media, or pick-up one of our popular 5”x5” books from a local business or hotel. We currently have over 80 businesses advertising with us and a waitlist for next year’s edition.
